Nose job (rhinoplasty) is a nose plastic surgery which is done to remove anything that causes any kind of discomfort such as: nasal hump, reshaping nostrils, changing nose tip, its size, an angle between a nose and an upper lip, different nose deformities, correction of deviated septum to ease up breathing.
Surgery s done under general anaesthesia and lasts about two-three hours. The surgery is performed either using a closed procedure, where incisions are hidden inside the nose, or an open procedure, where an incision is made across the columella, the narrow strip of tissue that separates the nostrils. Through these incisions, the skin that covers the nasal bones and cartilages is raised, allowing access to reshape the structure of the nose. During the surgery the deformity of cartilage nose tip or cartilage-bone back of the nose is corrected, as well as nose shape distortion. Finishing the surgery the stitches are applied as well as a special nose case and bandage which maintains the desired nose shape until the bone grows. The results are visible immediately after the surgery after the swelling goes away and a patient is able to take off the nose case. The final post surgical result is seen only after the healing is done (from one to one and a half year).
